SOYB~Fabric

You know how you've always wanted to try something, but just needed the kick in the rear to do it? I always wanted to try sewing an ATC, but I needed that kick! AND I'M A QUILTER!!! I just never sewed paper or anything this small freehand.

Lisa's Step Outside Your Box challenge this week is The Fabric of Our Lives. I decided to do what my friend Martha suggested and just layered all sorts of stuff on to the fabric base. I have paper and fabric and gauzy stuff (I forgot what it's called!) and I used an old photo. The result is what you see here. And, it was fun!!!

beautiful!

I'm in the same position - I'm a quilter (by profession, no less), but have never made a fabric ATC, though I've always wanted to try.

When I finally do it, I hope mine turns out half as nicely as yours!

Yay! You did it -- and it looks FABULOUS! Now your big problem will be that when you have a sewing project -- you will have to keep every single teeny weeny scrap. And every teeny weeny scrap of paper. The scraps have taken over my house.
I can't wait to see what you come up with next!!!

Super ATC Sandee. I have never done stitching in my paper art either but should give it a try since I own more than one sewing machine. It's one of those things tha I always mean to get around to. You did a great job and it is only ypur first.

This is really really nice. I love it! You asked me how I did the fibers on my challenge piece (I can't find on your blog where there is an email address to write you). But anyway, I did hand sew the fibers on. Glenda
