Theme Thursday

Here's my contribution for Theme Thursday. The challenge was Triangle. For some reason it scanned with a bluish hue. Her face really is skin toned!

For the Birds

These 2 pieces are for a friend's round robin journal called For the Birds. The pages are back to back. Good thing because if they were side by side, people would think that I'm schizophrenic. The pieces are completely different in mood and style.
I hope she likes them!

4x4 Friday

It was free choice at 4x4 Friday today. I think this piece represents what I'm doing right now... "Contemplating the Universe"...

Gothic Arch Challenge (on a Friday...sheesh!)

The theme for this past Sunday's Gothic Arches challenge was Music and Lyrics. I've always loved Let it Be by the Beatles. That's the song I chose for this piece.

4 x 4 Friday

This week's theme for 4 x 4 Friday is People with Wings. One of my favorite! The little fairy is from Lisa's Altered Art (http://stores.ebay.com/Lisas-Altered-Art), which by the way, I'm designing for!
Go check out her collage sheets!

Step Outside Your Box

The theme this week was Rusty. I have to tell you this cute story. Here we are, new to CT. I have not one rusty thing in my possession. My husband and son were going for a walk, and as they walked out the door I told them this week's challenge was rusty. I asked them to please take flashlights and look for something for me. I thought it would keep them busy for a while. Well, about 30 minutes later, they came back with a number of rusty things. Apparently, they found a couple of abandoned cars in the woods. The springs were sticking out of the seats. The grabbed some rusty LARGE pieces of car springs and some smaller rusty coils. Give the boys a job and look what happens! I'm going back tomorrow to take a peek for myself and see what I can find!

Gothic Arch Sunday Challenge

Better late than never! This is last Sunday's Gothic Arch challenge. The theme was gypsy.

4x4 Friday...

Can you tell it was Football Sunday at my house yesterday? Why compete with the TV when you can leave all the boys in front of it and have all this time for art!!!
This piece is for 4x4 Friday's challenge. The theme is MUSIC.

Theme Thursday

The theme this week is Valentine. I LOVE this holiday!

Step Outside Your Box

The theme is Magazine Art this week. Go check out the site. Link is at the right under Art Challenges.

Not to brag or anything...

but I made my new banner. Now it's just the first one, and not nearly the quality of the one that was made by my dear friend Barb. However, I figured out how to do it! I'm so excited. Now, how does one work this into all the art that one must do? What a dilemma...
A HUGE thanks to Barb for coaching me on this!!!!!

One more little thing I made today...

This piece is called "One Good Egg" and was made for a "1" lottery in Altered Designs.

Gothic Arch Tip-In

I'm in a Gothic Arch Tip-In in one of my Yahoo groups. It's like a RR but instead of getting a book each month to work in, you get assigned a person, do the pages according to their theme and colors, and mail the pages directly to them. It's a lot less costly when it comes to postage.

These pages are for Tamara. Her theme is Flights of Fancy and she said she likes vibrant color. Hope she likes them!

WAHOO! Back to the arting!

I can't believe how long it took to get back to my art. It seemed like FOREVER!!!!!! My supplies got delivered on Saturday and I went to work immediately on the two fabric RR pages that I posted here. Now, mind you, I had quilted for years, but I haven't touched my sewing machine for the past 7 of them because I had gone back to work full time. Now that I'm a lady of leisure, I can do this again. Would you believe it took me 45 minutes to figure out why my machine needle wouldn't thread? Don't ask!
These 2 pages are for Jen (front to back). Her theme is Angel Babies With a Virtue. Her colors were whites, sepia and accent color of choice. I chose pink because it's her favorite color!

HAPPY 2008 & I'm finally in Connecticut!!!

I'm here! I'm here! I'm here! Wish my art supplies were...

They don't get delivered until this Saturday. Neither does my Rav 4! Bummer...I guess that means I'm going to have to drive the minivan and have to learn my way around here. We did purchase a TomTom GPS yesterday so I don't get too incredibly lost.

We are curently living in a rental on the lake. It is fully furnished and absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! It's like being on vacation for 2 months. And what a vacation it is. My 2 younger sons start school tomorrow (awwww...) and I'll have all this time in this house to do ART!!!

Anyway, as soon as my supplies get here, I'll be arting. Until then...Have a wonderful 2008 and talk to you all real soon!

(An EARLY piece of art made by me! Thought it would be fun to upload this!)
